Work Days & Plant Requests We will be holding two work days on Sunday 1st & Saturday 14th of April. The aim is to continue clearing and levelling the play area and to start some planting in the common areas. If you have any shrubs, small trees or fruit bushes which you would like to donate to the site please take them along on one of these days. Any donations would be great and we'll soon improve the appearance of the site as well as providing some windbreaks and increasing biodiversity.

Vandalism Unfortunately the two greenhouses to the south of the site have both suffered sustained stone throwing attacks from the public footpath. Most of the glass has been broken and there is some structural damage to the frames as well as damage to the contents.

Potato Day The potato day at the Inch house went well. There was a good turn out and many visitors expressed their appreciation that they did not have to travel down to the Borders for their seed potatoes. There wasn't as much stock sold as we could have hoped but if we repeat next year I'm sure the turnout will be even better.

Work day success

The work day on Sunday went very well. Lots of people mucking in and we have shifted almost half of the bark at an estimate. We'll organise another day soon to finish the bark removal off. In the mean time please help out by moving a barrow or two of chippings whenever you have a chance.

Filming

The filming date in February has been finalised as Wednesday 21st. The more plot holders and groups on site the better. We will also be working on the conversion of the play area on this day so the more hands the merrier.

The plan is to make better use of the play area enclosure. We will strip off the bark and level the area. Planted beds, seating, a barbecue area and an smaller but improved play area will be included.

On Sunday 18th February we will be having a work day to get started on this project. The first goal is to remove the bark chippings and transport them to the Dutch barn where they will improve the current floor. It would be great to have a good turn out for this day.

Also a quick reminder that the Potato Day will be held on Sunday 25th February at the Inch House, from 11am to 2pm. Lots of organic varieties will be available for sale. There will be an illustrated talk on the history of potatoes and how seed potatoes are produced. Light refreshments will be available.

Greenhouse Disaster

A lot of damage from the Hogmanay gales. Two greenhouses were destroyed and a shed was blown over. The shed was easily righted but it looks like the greenhouses are a total loss. Commiserations to the owners. Some pictures of the damage can be seen in the gallery.
